Birthday Festivities Part One

So I've had a pretty busy week since I did the Hugo Family's photo shoot. Which by the way I went to a photography class in which i learned to photo edit and combine two pictures and how to get the cross in the background the way I originally imagined. I also cropped out some creeper.

Not too bad for a rookie! Anyways so then Monday we celebrated Hubbys 33rd birthday. He initially has Thursdays off so we celebrated on Thursday at Twigs. Where I found I really am not found of Martinis but I love buffalo chicken flat bread which was a plus. I was pretty impressed with the food to be honest I got a bistro steak salad and it was delish! I'm saving calories for my birthday in which i will devour bread sticks at Olive Garden!

Monday night I made lobster for the first time. Because my husband is that husband the one who makes things difficult. Like when i asked what he wanted me to make him for birthday dinner I expected him to say something (easy) that I knew how to make already like Chicken Mole, Tacos, taquitos.... something along those lines so when he said "Lobster Tail" I kinda cringed not to mention he said "Grilled Lobster Tail" (insert freaking out emoji).

I spent the whole month youtubing how I was gonna do this and finally settled on a delicious Siracha Butter Grilled Lobster Tail recipe from pinterest. By the way there does exist a youtube video on how to "butterfly" a lobster tail if you get extremely lost as to what the heck that means. Power to the generation of youtubers!

Isn't that precious? So conclusion, the food was good. I'm glad I added steak to the menu because I am not a lobster person. Love my family wouldn't trade them for the world. We'll continue festivities this week as my birthday comes up on the 4th.

Hugo Family Shoot

Okay so this weekend has literally drained every ounce of energy I need to start the week! I think Saturday I left the house at 10, and came home at 6, briefly, before heading out to (another)  bbq untill 11! It was great but exhausting all the same! However, one of the highlights of Saturday was shooting the Hugo Family.

This was such a blessing. Up until now I have only really shot pictures of my family or still objects so this was definitely a challenge doing a family of seven. However I am so honored my friend let me shoot her family and trusted me enough to do this as well as provided grace where it was needed to me. I learned a lot primarily about entertaining a three year old, yelling at silly boys, and A LOT about my camera. For example next time i will move objects closer when clients want such large back image, and lightening, yes, sweet Jesus,  I need to learn more about lightening! But I'm so thankful for the grace of others in this process with me. We all start somewhere and I am learning to even give myself grace in everything I do especially my photography! Have a blessed week!

Dutch Bros White Angel Review

This morning while I was waiting for Alanzo to get on the bus I flicked through facebook to find Dutch Bros post announcing the "White Angel". I found it pretty impressive considering I thought there was only one type of coffee bean.

I was pretty desperate to try this drink and apparently the closest Dutch Bros to Gold's Gym, and on my route home, is off Linder. (Please put one in Star if your reading this Dutch Bros). I hadn't been around this area in awhile and I found it odd they placed a Sonic right there next to the Walgreen Store. Also some big blue building was covering Dutch Bros so I had a mini panic attack until I saw the little flower building that always brings me joy. I drive up and give my order to Carrot Top (I don't know his name but long red wavy hair guy) he was like"Have you ever tried white coffee beans?"

I told him no, confessing my white coffee virginity, and he responded by giving me a quick but informative Dutch Bros white coffee history. After explaining the boom from Oregon and White Coffee expansion to Dutch Bros everywhere he proceeded to tell me, "It taste like..." (he's debating whether or not to tell me).... "It tastes, kinda, like... dirt"

Dirt? I give him the "Did you just say dirt?" look, and then he explained alone this coffee tastes like dirt but in the white chocolate breve style, Dutch Bros creatively combined, it tastes amazing. So I trusted his hipster instincts because I've noticed all the hipsters work at Dutch Bros and they are usually pretty legit when it comes to coffeology. Besides I think the black coffee alone tastes like dirt as well.  So I got it and I take a sip before leaving the parking lot.

I wish I could thoroughly describe this drink. In a Nation where we are so obsessed with self pleasure, coffee is my favorite indulgence. I was sitting there trying to describe it even to myself. All I could do was just keep drinking it, savoring the creamy but not too creamy, heavenly, Jesus came down personally and flicked love on it, type of taste. Like everything great was mixed into this drink. Its like the crystal meth of coffee. I quickly could see myself at Dutch Bros everyday waiting in an hour long line just to get another cup, shaking from withdrawals, and possibly selling all my belongings to keep up with the expense.

To summarize this, basically Dutch Bros just swooped in and took a white creamy bird crap on Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Let me know what you think!

P.s. I just uploaded my fall mini special message me on facebook if you're interested in booking!
